“The Mask” Afriky Lolo performs at Florissant Valley Community College, STL

Through traditional African dance and song, “The Mask”

tells the story of an important ceremonial mask stolen from a West

African village and its journey through different hands until it is

returned.  Inspired by the rhythmic percussion of Afriky Lolo’s gifted

drummers and performed by a professional multigenerational cast, the

performance takes audience members on a captivating journey into

West African culture, making them feel as if they were right in the heart

of the continent.
